Cells are the basic components of any table you can create in Tableau. For a text table, the cell is the intersection of a row and a column, and is where the text is displayed. For example, four of the 68 cells are highlighted in the view below.
For other view types such as bar charts and scatter plots, identifying the cell is not always possible or useful.
